USF Safety Florida recently awarded Lake Mechanical Contractors Inc., with the Sunshine State Safety Award, for implementing and maintaining an effective injury and illness prevention program for the Mayo Correctional Facility in Mayo Florida.

The award, began in 2006 and is designed to recognize employers in high-risk occupations that partner with Safety Florida to make their workplaces safer and reduce the number of work-related injuries and fatalities.

 

This is Lake Mechanical's first Sunshine State Safety award from the University of South Florida`s (USF`s) Safety Consultation Program.
 
A key element of Lake Mechanicals safety program is to hold quarterly safety bonuses to recognize the safety of  all workers.  Lake Mechanical also has an established Safety Committee which meets on a regular basis to discuss/implement new safety practices as they arise.

Construction on the Mayo Correctional Facility started in the fall of 2008. Lake Mechanical  is committed to making safety a priority on the project through it’s completion.
